Illocutionary Acts on the Text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th Anniversary Congratulations
Abstract
This research focused on the analysis of illocutionary acts on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations. There were two formulations of the problem. First is what type of illocutionary acts on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations? And what is the dominant type of illocutionary acts on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations?. In line with the formulation of problem, so the purposes of this research were to determine the types of illocutionary acts on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations and to analyze the most dominant of type of illocutionary acts on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations. This research used qualititative descriptive research. The instrument used data sheed. The research findings were there were some types of illocutionary acts found on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations. Declarative was 16.67 %, representative was 33.33%, expressive was 16.67%, commissive was 33.33%, while there was no directive found on the text. The most dominant type of illocutionary acts found on the text of UNIVA Labuhanbatu’s 14th anniversary congratulations were representative and commissive
