Abstract

The study titled ”Social Values in Tere Liye Hujan Novel” Show that findings of social values research consisted of ten values: 1) Affection, inthe form of mutual love, sacrifice, concern and worry. 2) Sorry-forgive, inthe form of admitting mistakes, apologizing, forgiving. 3) Obedience, in theform of obeying the rules and obeying orders. 4) Courtesy or hospitality, inthe form of mutual greeting and friendly. 5) deliberation, in the form ofmaking decisions with discussion. 6) gotong royong in the form of mutualhelp and work together. 7) A sense humanitiy in the form of sympathy andempathy. 8) Thewisdom of being able to make decisions and solveproblems wisely. 9) Respect others, maintain the attitude of not hurtingand embarrassing others, accepting gifts, and respecting gifts, andrespecting decisions. 10) Responsibilities, in the form of doing theassigned tasks, and accepting the consequences for the deeds done.The purpose of the study was to provide a background description of place,time and social in Tere Liye’s Rain novel and design its learning in high school.The method used was descriptive,and made the Rain novel by Tere Liye as a data source,and used text analysis techniques in processing data.
